Stawell - Halls Gap via Rail Trail
Impressive views of the Grampians Ranges and typical Western Victorian rural settings and farmland are presented on this ride. Leaving the historic town of Stawell, the route heads west towards the village of Halls Gap, which is nestled between the majestic Wonderland and Mount William Ranges. The first part of the route is along the Stawell-Heatherlie Quarry Rail Trail shaded in parts by gum trees,
with vistas towards the Grampians. The trail joins Mt Dryden Road where the ride is along quiet, gum tree avenues. The interesting scenery constantly changes as the imposing Grampians get closer. For the adventurous, there is the option to ride 5.4 kms through magnificently tall, quiet, yet sound filled bushland along Red Gum Lease Track on the way back to Halls Gap. This is a unique experience.
